In April 2016, RIVM invited a team of scientists from international corollaries to evaluate the work RIVM is doing. This peer-to-peer evaluation focused on the entire organisation, providing very valuable insights. How does the National Institute for Public Health and the Environment (RIVM) succeed in realising its vision of ‘promoting public health and safeguarding environmental quality’?
In 2015, RIVM collaborated with the Royal Dutch Meteorological Institute (KNMI) to launch a Shared Service Centre Campus with the objective of providing more wide-ranging ICT facility services and stronger synergy. The CIO office was established to coordinate this new branch of ICT services...
RIVM and the Medicines Evaluation Board (MEB) will move to Utrecht Science Park. In 2015, it became clear that the original design did not comply with the vibration user requirements for laboratory rooms. The consortium StruktonHurksHeijmans (SHH) made several changes to the design in 2016. Construction is expected to begin in 2017. Read more
RIVM’s ambition is to work completely digitally in the future, which suits a society that continues to move online. It also guarantees that valuable knowledge will be kept safe and remains accessible. RIVM is working hard towards that end: in 2016, we started laying the foundations.
RIVM is situated at Science Park Bilthoven. The Antonie van Leeuwenhoek terrain foundation (Stichting-ALt) manages the joint environmental permit for all organisations on the site; this foundation also supervises compliance with the permit.
