In our role as trusted advisor, we provide government with impartial advice on infectious diseases, vaccination, population screening, life style, nutrition, pharmaceuticals, environment, sustainability and safety.
The RIVM Strategic Programme is buzzing with curiosity and energy in its nearly 100 projects for research, innovation and the development of in-depth expertise.
In 2016, 128 reports and 808 scientific publications were published in leading journals. These publications represent a major scientific contribution by RIVM to decision-making processes in the Netherlands and abroad. An overview of RIVM publications is available here (external link).
Our position as a nationally and internationally respected knowledge institute can be attributed in no small part to the quality of our work and the passion and commitment of our staff members. We expect our researchers to conduct themselves in a manner befitting scientists of impeccable integrity.
Many PhD students receive the opportunity to do scientific research. RIVM provides research assignments relevant to society and professional support for leading experts. In 2016, 14 researchers received their PhD degree.
The Board states that RIVM has again succeeded in guaranteeing the scientific quality of the research carried out at the institute.
